CALL FOR PAPERS - HUMANOIDS 2010 WORKSHOP
The 5th Workshop on Humanoid Soccer Robots
Nashville, TN, USA, December 7th, 2010
http://www.humanoidsoccer.org/ws10
----------------------------------------------------------------

Important Dates:
----------------
* Deadline for submissions: October 15th, 2010
* Notification of acceptance: November 5th, 2010
* Final papers due: November 23rd, 2010

Motivation and objectives:
--------------------------
Humanoid soccer has seen a lot of progress recently, e.g.,with the
introduction of a bipedal standard platform robot, soccer games
for larger robots, and the introduction of competitions for
simulated humanoid robots. The ultimate goal of Humanoid Soccer
Robotics is to develop a team of "humanoid soccer players" -- i.e.
robots with human-like motion, intelligence, and skills in playing
soccer. This initiative poses a unique set of challenges to robotics,
AI and many other fields.

This workshop will be held for the fifth time in conjunction with the
Humanoids conference. It will bring together researchers from the
RoboCup and FIRA communities, as well as other researchers interested
in the subject.

Submissions:
------------
We solicit paper submissions, optionally accompanied by a video, both
of which will be reviewed (not double-blind). Papers should be up to
6 pages in length, formatted according to IEEE conference layout
(two-column).

Accepted papers and videos will be assembled into proceedings and
distributed in CD format at the workshop. If there is sufficient
interest, we will pursue publication of a special journal issue to
include the best papers. In the past, special issues appeared in IJHR
and RAS.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

* Design of humanoid soccer robots
* Perception for soccer robots
* Bipedal locomotion
* Generation of complex motions
* Control architectures
* Motion planning for soccer
* Team coordination
* Skill and strategy learning
* 3D simulation of humanoid robots

Email submissions to: mailto:hsr10 at ais.uni-bonn.de .
Please do not attach video files; include a URL instead.

Best regards,
